1️⃣ Register with MHSAA (Required)

• ⚠️ After June 5, 2026 or you may be charged twice.

  • • New officials must complete the Principles of Officiating and MHSAA Guidebook exams before approval.

2️⃣ Complete OK Conference Registration (Required)

(Note: Closed for the season — reopens mid-April 2026)

3️⃣ Join a Local Officials Association (Required)

• Provides training, meetings, and scrimmages

Locations:

• Greater GR / Holland → WMOA

• Grand Haven / Muskegon / North → USAOA or MMOA (or both)

4️⃣ Set Up ArbiterSports

• You’ll be added after MHSAA approval

• Watch for welcome email and follow setup steps

• Block dates you are unavailable (help link)

5️⃣ Game Dates & Times

• HS Sub-Varsity: Tues/Thurs (4:00 / 5:30 PM)

• HS Varsity: Tues/Fri (6:00 / 7:00 PM)

• Middle School: Mon/Wed (~4:00 PM)

6️⃣ Uniform Requirements

• Black & white striped shirt

• Black pants

• All black shoes & socks

• Black whistle (Fox 40 only)

Uniform:

• White or Cyan Blue MHSAA shirt

• Black pants

• All black shoes, socks, and belt

• Black whistle (Fox 40 only)

Equipment:

• Red & yellow cards

• Pressure gauge & pump

• Net chain (measurement)

• Wristwatch

• ½ dollar coin

• 3x5 note cards

• Mechanical pencil or pen

• Line judge flags (optional Year 1, recommended later)
